Well a S15 SR20DET (250HP STOCK) can run at stock boost a 13.9 and do the 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds...and that's a Silvia...so in a S13...it could probably do the quarter in 13.5-13.7 just due to the weight reduction. The S13's weight around 2600lbs. The current Silvia proabably weighes around 2900-3000lbs.

Not sure what 5.0 "Rustangs" run the quarter in.

okay the S13 you'll lose, because the motor only has 205 hp. they run high 14's on the quarter miles. the S14's has 220hp. and those runs mid to low 14's. morelike 14.3 quarter miles. and the final and fastest ones are the S15's with 250hp and they do quarter miles in high 13's. sooo with a S15 you can be equal to a 5.0

a 240sx can beat a mustang 5.0 i have already betten one. Mustangs are not as good on the street as they are on the track they tend to spin alot but if u have a stick shift 240 sx u should win. i beat one and the modifications i had to my car at the time were a 92 front clip, Eibach springs, Magnaflow exhaust and converter, K & N filtercharger, high performance clutch, Falken tires, and 3-A racing distributor and that was a while ago now my car runs 13.56

Re: 240sx vs ford mistake

sure it is, cuz then they just do the loser flyby
but it depends on how far you mean by "of the line" it could be, lets say a hundred feet, if your ahead by then, then lets say you beat em

Re: 240sx vs ford mistake

ok if they beat u off the line it doesnt mean that they are going to beat u in a race. just think a wrx and a 240sx run the same quarter mile time then the wrx is going to beat it off the line but the 240 will catch up by the end.

the S13 S14 and S15 are all within 100lbs of each other so it doesn't matter which one you use, the S15 just has a better engine

Just becase a mustang has more hp doesnt mean it would win because u can get a Honda HB wit LS Vtec engine swap and beat a mustang and it also has less horsepower. I seen a mustang 5.0 run 15 seconds before it all depends on the driver. U cant depend on quartermile times all the time cause i kno for a fact a s13 will beat a mustang 5.0 and if horsepower is the key then y can mustangs beat camaros

What I mean is if you beat him thru first gear simply because he spun tires, then you dont have any bragging rights.

^^^^^^^ This guy claimed that a 240sx can beat a 5.0, and then he mentioned that they spin a lot. Therefore I was led to believe he was saying that a stock 240sx can beat a 5.0 if it spins its tires at launch. That led to my rebuttal, because it takes more than a good launch for the 240sx to win.

The modifications he mentioned wont completely close the gap either. Either it was a very short race, or he is sporting a turbo.

Websites are full of sh*t. A stock or near stock 5.0 with a decent driver will run high 13s low 14s - anyone whos spent some time at the dragstrip will tell you that.

A Silvia would give the stang a run for its money. That race would depend more on the drivers.
