Manual trans removal on 91 2 wheel drive
The hydraulic throw-out bearing in this vehicle is failing. I am looking to replace the clutch components without dropping the cross member and dropping the trans completely out of the way.
After unbolting everything I can move the trans a couple of inches back but it seems to be stuck and won't go back any further even though there seems to be plenty of room all around. Am I missing something? Help |

Re: Manual trans removal on 91 2 wheel drive
I hope you have removed the shifter from the transmission or it will not move back far enough to get to the clutch. If you have then check the clearance between the body and bellhousing/transmission for room to move. And if everything is ok and the shifter is out and you have plenty of room then its prob stuck in the clutch disk and jest needs a good shot of WD-40 on the input shaft and parts (as best as can be done) and a firm tug.
Good luck |
