wide open throttle

ill be driving and the car will be running great , when i have to push the clutch for traffic or stoplights i notice the engine is turning faster than it should ! it doesnt stop, im going down the road holding the brakes and accelerating ! push the clutch and the tach pegs! After turning car on and off three or four times the thing will run normal until it does that again.doesnt matter if i let it warm up or not but i noticed it seems to occur most often when the heat is on. car run great other than this intermitting problem. any sugggestions would be greatly appreciated

try checking the throttle it may have something gummy on it, and holding it open, if you can try getting it warmed up and seeing if it will stick open or something you could figure it out, other wise hook up a scan tool

a friend suggested that carbon build-up in the injectors could be the culprit.
i took said assembly apart and polished to a shine, replaced springs and seals and bolted it together !
i cant even make the thing chugg now!
thanks for the help and i hope this info will answer some questions for someone else.

Intake Air Control Valve (IAC) is faulty, will cause engine to speed up by itself, prove this by unhooking the battery and resetting computor, engine will start and run fine, and then start picking up speed all by itself, especially if you drive it. Fun huh !!
