Trying to purchase a Chip?

does anyone know where i might be able to purchase a chip for a 1998 taurus?...also would it be a good idea to purchase it and install it, or might it damage the engine?

what type of engine is in your 98? if it the Duratec, try www.duratec.com Alot of people I have talked to have had alot of luck with the Diablo Chip.

i really dont have any idea if my engine is a duratec...all i know is that its a 3.0 sohc V6....

then you have the standard V6 that came with all the other tauruses aside from the DOHC (duratecs) and the SHO's. I don't know what chips are out there for your engine, cause I never researched them. Try www.tauruscarclub.com for some information and specs of other cars like yours.

i got a standard ford blue supperchip. contact a local chip dealer. you will have to get your pcm code of the inside of the passenger door frame. they will program the "blue"ford chip with the comp number, ship it out. easy to follow instructions. 20 mins tops. the good thing about supperchip is when i bought my 92 sho they reprogramed it from my 96 gl with the vulcan sohc you got. as long as you buy a ford, you have a chip, and you just pay for shipping. www.supperchips.com. it makes a big differance to, you'll see

I got a custom programmed chip from a guy name Ted Breaux, I can get contact info for you if you want. I got a 92 SHO, and it changed everything. he will reprogram it for you free for life if you put any mods on it at all. He's got refrences, plenty. Let me know

i paid $415.00 canadian. that included shipping and supperchips are programible for custom mods . it was here 15 hours after i hung up the phone to
