Cam Question

Lets say I had a 99 GSR motor in my civic. I've done a full head port/polish,68mm throttle body,skunk2 or somekind of aftermarket intake manifold,JE pistons making 9:0:1 compression,Eagle Rods, Darton Sleeves, fully blueprinted and reworked block, and running a custom t3/t4 turbo system. If I had all of this done, should I stick with the stock cams, or maybe go with CTR cams, or maybe even some aftermarket short duration/high lift cams such as skunk2/toda/crower/etc.

Re: Cam Question

Go with some high lift short duration, I think the CTR cams will have too much duration and will be wasting some of the boost. The staock cams will work fie until you can buy some new ones, I suggest Skunk2 or crower. Not sure if Toda makes a turbo cam or not. And the Skunk2 cams do not have the specs on their web site, but I know they make quality parts as well as Toda and Crower. I would call Skunk2 and Toda and get specs and compare woth the Crowers. My

Re: Cam Question

for skunk2 stage two cams are for lightly modified engines at high rpms stage three cams are for race purpose really... mainly cars with a really high rpm capablities. So basically what im saying is it depends on the modifications on your engine.

You are comparing N/A cams not turbo cams. Turbo cams are a totally different ball game
