I'm having a lot of trouble getting the right axle out of a 97 Camry. The lock ring is off the bearing and the Haynes manual says it should just slide out but I've applied a great deal of force and it hasn't budged. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

I use a 3/4" solid brass round bar, PB blaster, and a 3 lb hammer to pound them out. Hit it right on the bearing, and it takes a while. I have seen where that manual says "slides right out", yeah right.
You said lock ring, I hope you also meant lock bolt on the bearing carrier is loose as well. |

Thanks NDenso.
Yes, I do have the carrier lock bolt removed. I'll give your method a try next time I have time to work on it. |
