your opinion on exhaust
my neighbor runs a ractive uni muffler on his 2000 civic. He claims this is the loudest muffler u can buy. What is everyone's opinion on this, because i know it aint the loudest. Im trying to set him straight but i dont have very much to go by b/c im kinda new to the import scene

Why would you want the loudest? Just get something that performs good and sounds good.

And please, don't spare any expense on your car.. you'll just kick yourself in the end. That's my advice for the noob.

its not the loudest.

and if he tells you he got any performance gains out of it, thats a lie, mufflers alone won't give you anything except noise. (Unless he also got custom 2.25" piping done when he had his muffler welded on, in which case he would have gains.)

he claims its one of the loudest uni mufflers they make, but i know there are other companies out there that make louder. If its not does neone have an opinion on who makes a loud muffler so i can let this kid know why so many people are laughin at him when he hits the gas and u cant hear a damn thing comin out of that 4.5" tip that he claims makes all the difference

a full catback apexi n1 is pretty loud (even their universal ones), almost guaranteed louder than his.

having a 4.5" tip doesn't make any difference btw...

APEXI N1 muffler no cat no res 3" piping would be probbly loudest.

loud... i dont think there could be a limit to that, because u can custom weld on a fucking foghorn and drive around town. thatll be dandy, im sure u can win that guy with the louder muffler in the 1/4 mile :-D

i think 5zigen or buddy club exhausts w/ 3in' piping and no cat or resonator would be the loudese you could get. much louder than the N1! crazyy loud haha
