$7,000

That's how much $$$ a friend of mine is willing to give me for my '96 Rav4 with Chrome Rims and VERY good stereo. The stereo alone is worth about 1,000. Anyway, is this a good deal? This girl LOVES RAV4's and her dad is a used car salesman so the deal would definitely go through.
And if I did sell it, what car do you guys recommend? Obviously, it's not enough for a supra or 300zx (what I've ALWAYS wanted), so what would you guys suggest? I'm looking for good acceleration (1/4) and good handling as well as something that's fun to drive.
Thanks for any help

Well you can get a Supra and 300zx for $7000 just won't be brand new, probably be able to get a really nice Mk3 Supra turbo for $7000 or get a cheap one and mod the hell out of it and you could probably get a Z31 300zx for cheaper than a Mk3 Supra.

$7,000? I've got a few suggestions for you that you've probably never considered.

1: Triumph TR-8. It's a small two seat FR wedge housing the Rover/Buick 3.5L aluminum OHV V8. These things are scary fast in the way the Sunbeam Tiger was, but have a few more creature comforts.

2: Triumph Spitfire GT-6. This Spitfire coupe is tiny. We'll get that in the open right away. But that being said, it has a stout SOHC straight-six that'll easily be coaxed into making 240+ horsepower. Plus these Michelotti designed masterpieces are dropdead gorgeous and contain a fairly well thought out transverse leaf independent rear suspension, just like a Corvette.

3: Sunbeam Tiger. It's a poor man's Cobra. Tiny British car + 260ci Ford V8 engine = acceleration the likes of which will freak you out. Watch out for power on oversteer, though. There isn't really enough tire to cope with all that torque.

4: later model Alfa Romeo Spiders (Quadrifolglio). Gorgeous Pininfarina lines and Alfa's famous DOHC engine make this car a perfect headturner and a great drive.

Look into all four of these cars and you'll probably find one you like. I guarantee that they're each beautiful performers and will bring more smiles to your face than any Toyota sport-cute.

You can always take out a small loan to cover any left over costs.

A Z28 Camaro or a Trans Am with a LT1 would be a good choice for $7000. Everyone else is probably going to say a 240sx.

my friend had the money for a twin turbo 300zx when he got his license and called his insurance company and they said $576 per month for a 18 year old male with a perfect record. (he had below a 3.0 though, so no good student discount)

I have full coverage with AAA and my good student discount knocks off about $500 a year (from about $3700 to $3200 per year for a 17 yr old male with one accident). So, it helps a good bit.
