what should my car be running in the 1/4

i am a new member and i have a 91 teg' with ca intake, back section of muffler taken off, ac and power steering removed, a b16 flywheel(which i heard was somewhat lighter), new clutch that doesn't slip yet, and a short throw shifter*. what do you all think i should be running and what would be the most cost effective thing to do next???

*I know how to shift better than most.

well, not sure what you mean by back section of muffler off, you mean pipe to axle is it?

anyways Id definately get headers and dont go cheap, go brand name, i got OBX and ports are about 1/2 size, pipes are smaller and thicker as wel, so much smaller I.D.

and then id get a real exhaust system, like 2.25" pipe and id get a muffler otherwise it has got to be so loud, I know a kid with a 5th gen hatch with a B18B and he got headers to a y pipe to 2.25 dual, no cats, no mufflers, just 2 big ass chrome tips and you cant even sit in the car without ear plugs anymore.

and Id put back on the belts for the PS at least, I think it only really takes the power when under load, and when drag racing, there isnt any turning so... and even if it still took a little bit of HP when spinning pump not under load, it is probably less than 1HP. the AC if you dont luse it then leave it off but i think it is another situation where it doesnt really take power to turn the pump unless youre running the AC.

and a 91 w/ CAI, stock exhaust cut at axle(im assuming), no AC/PS, B16 flywheel. if it is a stick and a 2 door, Id say like mid 16 at best, possibly highs just because of the fact that ive seen stock 96's with intake running 16 flat, 16.1. and they start with already 12 HP more, and the fact that it has 5 years more age on it, and the only real mod you got is the intake, the flywheel might do a bit but i dont know any stock weights of those, and with the exhaust i dont really know what your saying. if auto probably like mid-high 17's. my brothewr in law had a 92 GS sedan(92 had 10HP more than 91 i think) but it was auto, not quick very quick at all

so clear that up, post if it is a 2 or 4 door and auto or stick and someone else might be able to answer you a bit better.

i agree there are so many variables the only true way to see what YOUR car can do is run it. even with exact same models the same person can run different times especially when a car isn't brand new.

and it sounds like the only reall power adder you got is the intake. the muffler thing really won't do much cuz you still have stock restrictive header and cat, all you did by removing the muffler is make your car loud and obnoxious. with everything you have listed you are looking at maybe if you are very lucky like 5 hp. something like intake will give the best performance when you also do exhaust and fuel upgrades as well. that why people always refer to i/h/e cuz it works best together. even though you get more air to your engine you still need to get it out (hence h/e), and you need more fuel to keep your air fuel ratio good, anyway i'd say you are prolbly still lookin at very close to stock times low 16 high 15? correct me if i'm wrong.

when i posted this i had already run my car at a 16.2. i just wanted to know what you all think i should have been running. my friend has the exact same model teg and said that with sri/e he ran a 15.8 and i was wondering why i couldn't hit those times. my car has even less miles than his too. like 40,000 less.oh yeah the exhaust thing on 90-91 tegs, not sure about 92-93,is that the exhaust unbolts at the axle. i didn't have to cut it off. it gives it a nice deep tone, better than alot of exhausts i have heard. i figure it is a little less restrictive because the exhausts don't have to run through the muffler. it doesn't sound bad at all. it does pop every now and then, which sounds bad, but that doesn't happen very often. and my teg is a 2 door std.
