Back and with a question!!
Hello all. Its about that time for me again. Time to do a little upgrading to my civic. I have decided the area most lacking is suspension, so I have decided to get a front strut bar and a rear sway bar. But in my searching I found this on the Skunk2 website:
"Skunk 2 Rear Sway Bar A sway bar is in essence a large spring that assists the rear springs in preventing body roll. Hot-forging 6150 alloy-steel allows the Skunk2 Racing rear sway bars to perform more consistently and predictably than traditional cold-formed sway bars common in the aftermarket industry. Each sway bar comes with all necessary mounting hardware and sealed endlinks. It should be noted that an addition of a large sway bar is not a replacement for adequate springs and shocks. If a large sway bar is used with softer rear springs, the chassis will need to be reinforced." Well what I want to know is can I use this rear sway bar on my stock shocks/springs or will I need to upgrade those first? Thanks for the replies, and must say nice to see the place again ![]() btw- love this guy -->

Yes you could use that sway bar with stock shocks/springs. You will notice a greater improvement with a nice aftermarket shocks/springs. If your adding another bar besides the rear sway it should be a lower tie-bar.
Bar order 1. Rear sway bar 2. Rear Lower tie 3. Rear upper tie 4. Front upper tie 5. Front sway bar bushings(poly) or sway bar 6. Front lower tie Suspension order 1. Tires/wheels 2. Shocks - Springs - Coilovers - Camber kit 3. Brakes 4. Sway bars 5. Tie bars 6. Bushings 7. Other bracing |

cool thanks. Glad I can use my stocks. I don't plan on lowering my car, I like keeping it up a bit until I can get off these pothole roads.
And the lower tie bars, they hang down a bit don't they? I've seen pics and looks like they tie in with the bar a couple inches below the gas tank. That's not good for me. Also, I can do the front upper strut without doing those others first right? I mean, thats just an order of importance not nessasarily an order of precedence right? One isn't a prerequisite for the other is what I mean. again, thanks!

Lower tie bars hang no lower than the LCA's so it will not change any clearance issues you may have and yes you can get the strut bar first. BTW where you been lately?

My exhaust hangs lower than the Neuspeed bar. None of the bars need to be used together, for handling a rear sway & lower tie should be used together w/ a lowered suspension.

thanks for the info guys.
As far as my whereabouts, I have had trouble getting into AF lately, with it being too busy for me to get in. I also haven't been checking as much because I have hit a very dry spell in my purchasing for my car. I have not forgot about you all, but have been busy elsewheres working and at university. Cheers all and good luck with your rides
