Turbo newb

I'm looking into getting a turbo for my car. I have a 2k Accord 4dr with an F23A engine. I don't want to do an engine swap, but its been kinda hard to find info for a turbo.

I'm probably going to end up putting one together because I can't spent 4k on a turbo kit. I'm not really looking for high boost because im going to be running on stock internals (so probably 6-8psi).

I guess im just having a bit of trouble getting started. This is where some suggestions would come in handy. I was looking at maybe a T3 or T25 turbo, I really don't need anything too big. It's going on a daily driver. If anyone has any ideas on a good turbo to buy please inform.

I think i have the basic components down... manifold, turbo, downpipe, bov, wastegate, piping... I'm just looking for some setup ideas.

One more uneducated question... since Im going to be running low boost what size exhaust would be acceptable. I know 3" would be ideal but if I get an exhaust before the turbo it will probably be a magnaflow 2.25" would I be able to keep this exhaust or should I go with a 2.5" custom. If I go 2.5" would there be any problem running stock with that size exhaust?

Oh... and what does A/R stand for when in referenc to the exhaust and compression side of the turbo?

Any info would help... thanks.

A/R stands for Area to Radius Ratio. this is the most accurate way to determine the size of the compressor and turbine housings of a turbocharger, which assists in properly matching up a turbine for your motor.

for an F22 Accord, you're best off with a T3 with at least a .48A/R ratio compressor housing to push enough total cfm of air into the motor, and a .63A/R ratio turbine housing to give you quick spoolup and still flow enough exhaust gases to not create backpressure.

as for the rest of your inquiries, you can use the search function, as this topic has been talked about literally hundreds of times.
