Tamiya Williams BMW FW24 Tire Decals
Hey, I'm a newbie, but I really hope to make some good contributions to the this site. With that out of the way, I have a question:
I just received the new 1/20 Tamiya Williams FW24 from HLJ today. I started looking at the parts, and I realized that the tire decals are only blue, and are missing the Michelin man and the words "MICHELIN" on it. Is that a problem you have on your Tamiya Williams models? and if it's a common problem, where can I find tire decals that do have them? Thanks a lot guys. |

Hi aznyanksnyc,
first of all, welcome to AF! As for your question. The tyre decals are actually reversed so that you place them face down onto the tyre and then slowly peel the backing away. If you look to the bottom of page 8 in the manual, it gives you a 6 step how-to on applying the tyre decals. Have fun with the kit.... I am still doing some other models first to get my skills up a little before attempting the Williams kit... I'm not confident enough yet to attempt it. |

Thanks a lot, I should've read it more carefully. I just started building it, so I was just glancing throug the instructions first.
However, I just hit another snag today. I coated the rear cowling pure white, and then spray painted the telefonica blue over it while masking it. Unfortunately, the phone rang while is was spray painting, I lost concentration, and now the left side of hte cowling is a little darker than the other. *sigh* I can't believe I would make a mistake like that, now I have to find some way to correct it. Again, thanx a lot for your help, saint1111. |
