Parking Brake indicator came on while driving
Yesterday it was raining and all of a sudden the parking brake indicator on the dashboard came on. I checked to see if I didn’t leave the parking brake up a little and it wasn’t. Then I saw that every time I pressed the clutch to change gears the light would turn off and then back on when I released the clutch. I got home turned off the car and it hasn’t turned on since. Only when I apply the parking brake, as it should be. The last time this happened (7-8 months ago) it was raining cats and dogs, just like yesterday.
Is there any relation between the clutch and the parking brake for that to happen? Me clutch is hydraulic not cable. What kind of short could it be? Has this ever happened to anyone? Thanks for the help. |

This may indicate that a brake light has burned out. Have someone check you brake lights while stepping on the brake pedal.

low brake fluid will also cause the light to come on. when the brake fluid is low, that usually means the pads/shoes are worn.

yeap, just jackasssi said, your brake pads and rotors could be worn out and caliper pistons are out far enough for brake fluid to drop in reservoir which would bring brake light on.
chech condition of pads and rotors and if they in acceptable condition just brake fluid.
