electrical problem
hi i have a 1998 Blazer LS 4x4. my illumination lights recently went out. all my brake and turn signals work. the shifter and odometer still work and all the gauges work its just the illumination. the illumination on my windows and locks still work. i have checked all fuses none wer blown. and i do not have power goin to Illum. fuse in the cab. if i jump power to it the light switch will light up but my dash and heater dials still wont. and when i turn the head light switch on the compass and outside temp screen goes out. would all this be caused by my switch or do i have a short some where under my dash. and input is greatly appreciated

Re: electrical problem
There might be a dimmer control for the headlamp switch, you just rotate it. If it gets turned down all the way, you won't have any dash lites. Also, check the illumination fuse and circuit for voltage.

Re: electrical problem
well yea the dimmer doesnt change anything except the dome lights turn on when turned all the way up and like i have allready said there is no power at the illumination fuse. and i would like to know if that fuse is supposed to be Hot when the key turns on or only when auto lights turn on or the light switch is on
