Wink Anyone care to guess which car this might be...

This image was shared on Facebook by Tomirri Photography - the same one responsible for all those amazing high contrast shots of the MP4-12C High Sports taken at the McLaren Technology Centre.

Photo Removed <-- Sorry

Someone asked him if this was the new Mega Mac under the tarp on the left and he responded to say:

Quote:
"Unfortunately not. But it is one very special F1. The bad news is I won't be able to show any more for a longer period of time. This is what you call an ultimate teasing! "
Teasing indeed!!

If I had to guess (and I do... ) I would think this might be #072 under the tarp. It was being redone for a new owner in Texas towards the end of last year - supposedly repainted white and red, and retained the High Downforce Kit.

Maybe it's something else though?

I know some people I could ask ...who won't tell me a thing.

Hello,

nice teasing. I suspect a GTR but I don't know

What do you think would make it "one very special F1"?

I would guess it might be one fitted with the 691hp engine or a GTR.

I'd imagine just the paint job, I bet it's something special.

My guess coincides with Eriks - #072. Or #01R, as that is one very special F1

I bet if we're right about #072 that the 12C has somehow been finished to complement it and that's probably why they are together and covered. There's not much detail that can be gleaned from this shot but if you look closely at the front turn indicator on the 12C it appears to have an amber lens instead of a white one which typically implies the car is headed for the North American market.

I also rule out #01R because there's no antenna sprouting from the center of the roof.

Re: Anyone care to guess which car this might be...

At first I thought XP1LM, but now I think it would be a GTR. The reason I would lean towards this instead of #072 is the windscreen wiper - on the standard road car it is big and would point to the right in the picture, but I don't see it. The GTR goes the other side and is much smaller, and to me it looks like there is a ridge there.

Which GTR? Presumably #01R or #04R, 01R being the more likely.

I expect I am wrong, but worth guessing What do others think of the windscreen wiper?

Hmm,

I just hang up with Pharaon74 and he said me he saw a pic on Facebook and the car is white ! You're right Erik. He was not able to remember how he found the pic.

Re: Anyone care to guess which car this might be...

Definately an HDF, its got a small wing end plate thats more rounded at the front edge than any GTR or LM. It also has a std wiper arm and you can see the top of the pasenger side window outline. Plus the ride height is a little high for any race spec GTR.

My guess #072 (but then again, we could all be wrong )

Well for now at least we'll all have to pretend to remember what that photo looked like as the photographer seems to have jumped the gun on sharing it and asked me to take it down.
