2008 GP GXP Charging System Failure
First time I saw this one! Today the DIC said "Charging System Failure". So I turned around and went back home. My husband undid the battery and cleaned it off, and the car seems to run fine now with no more messages displaying. Anyone else had this problem with the 2008 GP GXP? Of course the date and time need to be reset now. I'm wondering if any other settings need to be reset - since the battery was unplugged.

Re: 2008 GP GXP Charging System Failure
So I drove it last night and today. I had the Battery display on, and it showed that it is charging. There was no indication of anything wrong today, except that I still need to reset the date and the time. Do you think the problem was just the little bit of gunk on the top of the battery that my husband cleaned off?

Re: 2008 GP GXP Charging System Failure
The charging system failure will happen if the car sees too much voltage too. I have gotten that message 5 times in my ownership. Each time I quickly scroll to the voltage on the DIC and it is over 15 volts, but quickly drops to a normal range.
