The 'Wrecker'

This is an old man F90 Commander Kit from Italeri which I bought on eBay for about 1.5 years ago. Some parts were missing, especially the instructions but got help from a member of the 1/24th forum, who kindly scanned another version of the F90, which have similar building form.

I decided to deviate from the kit's original finish kit, as usual, and do something different. This building, I called the "Wrecker". This is a private owner's modification that resulted in what you see now. A one man's mod to adapt a truck to suit his day-to-day's chores to be able to to let the truck work for him. As this truck as gone through some real hardship and still has a lot more to give. At least that is the story behind this build.

I still have little left to add such as, adding horns, the owner's logo (sign) and a little more 'weathering'.

Hope you like the results.

I like it, looks really cool. The timber base is a nice touch as well. Did the crane come with the kit or was that taken from something else?

Thanks. The crane was part of the Accessories kit that Italeri sells. All extras were either scratch built or taken from my box of miscellaneous parts, except for the storage boxes.

Superb job. I always find that weathering is very important since it makes a model really come to life. A model may be built in a perfect way, but if it has no weathering -even very very subtile- it will stay toy-ish somehow.

This model speaks to it's viewer! I love it.
