Lack of "go" - lack of power

I just recently began to notice that my truck seems to have lost some power and "go" when taking off. It seems that that motor is making all the noise, the tach is going up, yet I'm not going anywhere fast. Next to that, I started to notice that when accelarating, there becomes a point where you hear the motor "change tone", sort of like if you were pulling a hill and put the AC on. I have no codes, no lights, nothing seems out of the ordinary. I'm almost sure my fuel pump is starting to go because I have that "3 key turns/pump cycles to start" thing going on, but it's been that way for the past year. Fuel filter? Or maybe the last legs of the pump? Any ideas would be great, I do plan on cleaning the MAF and intake, plugs and wires are new 6 months ago.

first measure the fuel pressures. replace fuel filter if over 30,ooomi...could be just fuel filter...your engine should start in 1-2 rotations of the engine about 1-2 seconds !
put key to ignition on , wait 2-3 seconds then engage starter..

I'm going to do fuel filter first. I think I have a bad check valve in my fuel pump, it back drains into the tank after you shut it off and it takes 2-3 pump cycles to start it after a few minutes. Regulator was changed, fuel pressure slowly drops and when the tank is half full I can put my ear over the filler hole and hear fuel running back. I'm assuming bad/stuck check valve or something. Was just trying to determine if this was more of the pump crapping out or something else.

Re: Lack of "go" - lack of power

Think this could be a bad ECT? Doesn't seem to vary with temperature but has all the symptoms of a bad one... it's only $20 seems worth a shot. I'm also at 140k and original o2 sensors.

to test the pump only ,,,,,make up test guage with , a hose with clamps fittings to connect to the fuel filter fuel line..

turn key to ignition on , and see how long the pump pressure at the fuel filter stays constant or drops slightly over 15 min..this will check the pumps check valve...

if it does drop quickly some members have installed in the fuel filter line a check valve..they are sold on the internet some where I seen them..they say it works if the pressures are good just the check valve defective on the pump...
