Lot of water dripping from tailpipe and cat
I get to work early trying to get a free parking spot so my car usually idles for about an hour or so in park. it is usually around 50 degrees or so when i go to work at night in boston but have been noticing a large puddle under the catalytic converter dripping all the way to the curb and about a basketball size shape from the tailpipe. no cooloant at all in the dripping all water. is this normal or seem like too much water. seems to be worse when the vent(not AC yet) is on. anyone help me please

Re: Lot of water dripping from tailpipe and cat
Water is a by-product of combustion of hydrocarbons. In the case of a hot engine, operating in warm weather ... most of the water remains in the vapor state all the way out of the tailpipe, you never see it. If the exhaust system is cold enough, quite a bit of vapor is turn into liquid and droplets are seen coming out of the exhaust system. Also if one or more of the cylinders are not functioning properly ... more liquid will be seen. If the converters are not working properly ... the exhaust stream will not be as hot as it should be .... this also leads to more visible liquid.
