Clutch or Tranny?

I have a 1989 Chevy silverado, 305, 4-wheel drive, automatic transmission. The problem I'm having is that while driving some times the car loses power and just seems to rev but not pick up any additional speed, like the transmission is not moving from gear to gear correctly, has or does anyone else have a similar problem and how did they fix it?

Re: Clutch or Tranny?

On automatic transmissions the "clutch" is the Torque Converter. How many miles on the transmission? The Torque Converter or the internals/clutch bands are slipping in the transmission.
