Ignition switch

Does anyone have directions for installing the new ignition switch?

I have it installed but now all that comes on is the security light and the battery light. I'm guessing I messed the passlock system up. Is there a way to reprogram it? I need help ASAP!

Re: Ignition switch

What was the problem with old switch?
What was it doing or not doing?
Does engine crank or try to start?
Does heater blower and other key on stuff come on?

Orginal switch was not allowing the truck to start. It would not even crank. Then after 10 mins it would allow it to start on occasion. Currently the truck will crank with the new switch but soon dies.

If you have triped the anti theft.
Try the old key on for 10 minute untill light goes out.
Then off and back on 2 more times for 10 minutes untill light goes out.
Then key off and see if it will start.
You may need a charger or jumper battery on it to keep battery from going dead.
Let us know how it goes.

The new switch will power everything up and allow the truck to crank but that's it. It will not remain running.

Re: Ignition switch

If it starts and runs about 2 seconds and the theft light remains on you have tripped your antitheft.
Is it a stock OEM anti theft or add on remote start and antitheft setup?
First thing to try is the old key on 3 times.
Ans sometime a neg battery cable disconnect.
Try them two things and let us know how it does.
