Good mild cam for a 350
I'm not seeing as much power as i thought i would after the 305 to 350 swap. I'm not really sure why..it is only the LM1 but its the truck version so it should be making a good amount of power, and yet i seem to have trouble spinning the wheels. So i'm thinking of putting in a mild cam to wake the thing up.
Another question, would going from a computer advance HEI distributor to a mechanical advance give me a power gain at all?

the 305 had about 130hp. this is why your not seeing a huge power increase , but still much improved over the 305 . to get 250 hp you would need some engine work .replace the carb with fuel injection . |

Re: Good mild cam for a 350
Thats true so i'm probably making 190hp "best". But back to my original question, what would be a good mild cam to use with this engine if/when i decide to go ahead with that?

Get in touch with Comp Cams and tell them what you are trying to accomplish, they will be able to make some suggestions on cam selection. If you really want to wake up that sleeper, change the rear end gears to 3:55 or 3:73 and you will not have any trouble smoking the tires.. ![]() http://www.compcams.com/ .

Re: Good mild cam for a 350
If you have an overdrive trans (700R4 or 200R4) that should not be much of an issue.
