question

Hey everyone I have a question, I found a 95 300zx Twin turbo in a junk yard with the engine in it and turbos still on it and the guy offered to sell it to me for $300 the entire engine including the turbos, one problem is that the guy had to drag the car from a river it had been under water for a few days plus it had been in a rollover, the front end looked in good shape and the engine looked ok but I don't know what kind of damage was done to the engine the engine compartment was actually filled completely with mud so I couldn't see the whole thing, should I buy the engine or not, what kind of damage could have been done to the turbos? and what do you think they would be worth? and how much would they be worht if they hadn't been ubderwater?

if water got in the engine the internals are probably shot especially the bearings. The block may be ok and the turbos probably will need rebuilding because any time water gets into moving parts you get corrosion and they don't spin right.

If it were surmerged chances are the internals need to be rebuilded, especially it it was still running after rolling over into the water. Water would have been pulled through the motor and the shock cooling prob cracked a few spots, but for 300 bucks its a cheap project. I have just a little experience with that gen. 300zx I do know that parts for them are hard to come by, and they are ungodly expensive.
