The Ultimate in Cheek

I am about to stick my neck right out and ask what i know will be a request that is unlikely to get anywhere.
Would any of the current owners or anyone with access to an F1-GTR consider giving me access to a car in order to do a complete laser scan of it.
The task will be completed in under a day and would not involve touching the car in any way other than my the laser light beam.
If need be I am prepared to arrange whatever insurance requested prior to the job.
The aim is to make a complete 3D CAD model from which I will be getting a 1/5th scale body moulding made.
I have considered scaling up a 1/18th UT model but the process would possibly create too many inaccuracies as well as being more difficult than doing a full size scan as it would involve building an ultra accurate laser scanner first seen as standard scanners are accurate to within +\-1mm apparently. (I thought they were much more accurate).

Try AMALGAM models, they have scanned digital data of XP1LM and 01R.

...or Morry at Collectorstudio; it seems that as soon as a new high-end car is released he has a 1/5th [or suchlike] scale of the car ready for sale. He may have something lying around

Thanks for that, Mr Bridger sold 16R before I got a chance to ask him seen as he was only just a few miles down the road from me, se-la-vi.

Re: The Ultimate in Cheek

Collectors studio has approached McLaren to scan cars in the past with no success, did offer to sell me one of their 1/12th GTR's though. Had to decline though as I want something much more imposing.

If you have google sketchup I can send you a 3d model that seems to be fairly accurate.
