1987 New Yorker 2.2L Turbo - Turbo Won't Kick In

As title says , the turbo won't kick in. I was told to get a " temperature sending unit " well I can't find one looking on autozone.com and the junk dogs here are clueless.

Also , wondering how much a full tune-up should roughly run me on this thing. I'm not mechanically inclined about the tune-up stuff but the plugs look easy to get to myself.

Granted I only bought this car for $400 with less then 90k miles on it , runs ok , little rough etc etc.

Thanks

If the tubro is seized, it could cause heat damage.
Have a local muffler shop do a test, if bad remove Turbo, or replace.
