main bearrings
I'm looking at a new crankshaft for my 350 chevy and the one I'm am looking at is a forged crankshaft that requires chamfered bearrings but I don't know what the difference is between chamfered bearrings and normal main bearrings. Can someone explain it for me, and why they are required for a forged crankshaft. Thanks alot guys.

chamfered bearings probably have chamfered oil holes. with a forged crank you are probably running tighter clearances so that will prevent scoring of the journels and promote better oil flow over the bearing.
this is jsut a guess based on logic so someone who knows what they are talking about please back it up or tell him whats right.

Re: main bearrings
Chamfered bearings are required for cranks with radiused journals. Where the polished part of the journal meets the counterweight isn't cut completely into the corner, its radiused. If you use non-chamfered bearings, the square-cut edges of the bearing will contact that radius.
