60th Ann. of the Ferrari GB Fujimi 356 Daytona Speciale

Hey guys, heres the second kit of my Ferrari builds for the group build. This kit started out as a Fujimi Daytona Speciale kit that was of a special Pinninfarina Prototype, it included a neat targa style roof and different bumper wings front and rear. I bought the kit maaaaaaany years ago for really cheap thinking i'd be able to build a spyder out of it, little did I realize I couldn't since the convertible boot isn't there. I also didn't realize until I actually did some research on the car last week that the Fujimi kit is very accurate for such a rare car(different bumper wings and the top is it though). I am planning to build this as a racerish version of a spyder with a 62 thunderbird roadster style deck cover for the area behind the seat(where the convertible boot goes). Here i'm showing work to the engine, which will be custom as well, block is metalizer aluminum plate, heads are bmf'd first, then texture painted, then hit with tamiya red and testers regular flat aluminum for some contrast to the block, then the letters and ridges sanded lightly to reveal the bmf. The rear end is also texture painted with metalizer stainless steel sprayed on it. I was trying my cameras super macro mode and I think the pics came out pretty good. The motor will also have a custom induction system built for it similar to a ram air set up i've seen on an 356 built by Carobu(www.Carobu.com) I'm not sure about it yet but I'm thinking of using the spare CS wheels from the MSM Stradale kit with some added resin lips I casted for rolling stock. So far as body mods go, I'm thinking of going for something kinda like what Kunta did with his 356 Coupe. Color will be Silver with red and black in the interior and I am using a set of stock 360 Modena seats for an updated look. Hope you guys like it, and as always comments and critiques are welcome...

Thanks
Gray

Re: 60th Ann. of the Ferrari GB Fujimi 356 Daytona Speciale

Alright, got some more work done tonight, not much, but it is to me. I got the front accessories mounted up and painted, and am working of finding a decal for those oil filters. Also seen in the pics are the distributors and they are wired, just need painting and they can be installed. I also cut out the front for the non-flip lights and the perspex panel that most countries except the US got on these cars. Thats all for tonight, if I get a moment between cutting grass and vacuuming tomorrow, i'll get some more work done.

thanks for looking and as always comments and critiques are welcome

Re: 60th Ann. of the Ferrari GB Fujimi 356 Daytona Speciale

Ok guys, time for an update, got the chassis painted and the wheel mounting and ride height sorted out. I'm using a set of brakes from the tamiya nismo z-tune part set, and I had to narrow the 360 modena tires and well as use a smaller lip on the back to fit those meats in the wheel wells, but I think it should look pretty good. Motor is mostly done, all i'm doing is the ignition wire, since if I try to add more detail, it will just end up looking worse, I'm still not sure what i'm doing with the induction system though. Paint has been decided on now, Silver with a red interior. I've ordered some emblems, the studio27 pe set, and some mfh carpeting material from strada sports and they should be here soon. Thanks for looking and as always comments and critiques are welcome.
