Is there a clicking sound at all? Get under the car and make sure that all the wires are on good. I've had that problem, I guess I didn't torque them down very good and they worked themselves loose. If that's not the problem then it could be a bad starter and you should exchange it, should have came with a warranty. If that's not it then check and make sure that the wires are good.

Re: Nothing happens when car gets hot

Like RS said, make sure the battery wire is secured to the battery terminal (top most and largest screw) and switch terminal (and wires) are secured (right most connector when viewing from the bottom with feet pointed towards the rear of the car, if you go in head first [from the front] it's the left most connector).
But when happens when you turn the key?
Does it make the standard car starting noise but doesn't actually turn over the engine?
Does it make a single click noise and thats it (ie. no engine/starter noise)?
Does it make several clicks and no other noise (same i.e. as above)?

Re: Nothing happens when car gets hot

You could have gotten a bad starter.. The solonoid may be malfunctioning when it gets too hot.. You dont have VATS correct?
Have a wire tester on the small terminal of the start solonoid, and have someone try start the car when its not working, If your wire tester light comes on, You've got a bad solonoid, If there is no power to it then the problem lies in your battery or ignition wiring
