92 buick regal 3.8 liter starter
Need some help!...When I turn the key to start the vehicle the display lights come on, the starter tries to turn, but there is just some clicking, then nothing if I try to start the vehcile a bit more, Headlights and stereo work. I was going to change the starter and wondering if anyone had any advice on the starter swap, I am not the greatest mechanianc but have changed starters on previous cars, just not one this new. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Re: 92 buick regal 3.8 liter starter
is should be pretty straightforward. undo the wires, take out the bolts, and slide it out. The chassis crossmember may give you a spacial issue, but it should be feasible.

The chassis crossmember is indeed in the way (i had to do the same thing recently). To remove the started, remove both electrical fans in front, unhook the boots from the spark plugs in front, unbolt the exhaust header from the engine and wiggle it out... at this point you should have enough clearance to remove the starter. (a pain... yes).
