Battery Status
Hi 'Rado Lovers,
I'm the original owner of a 99 Silverado 4X4 so I've had it about 4 1/2 years. It has 36K miles on it. Can I rely on my instrument guage to tell me if/when the battery is dying? In my younger days, I would drive until the battery died, but it usually happened in the middle of nowhere and you know the hassle when that happens. So for the last ten years, I just automatically replace it with a new one every four or five years whether it's giving me trouble or not. My starts and stops are lower than average because I'm retired now and I also rotate driving my four vehicles and that's not even every day. Any advice would be appreciated. John
