Not much, just about anything you do will viod the warranty. It also depends on the dealership. I would suggest asking your dealership what would void the warranty.

Yea there aint much you can do. Wait for Jackson Racing, they more than likey will be making a supercharger kit for your can in the near future. Nice thin about they JR kits is that they come with a 100,000mile warranty of their own. You may want to consider cams. I am not sure if they are avalible yet for the 2001 EX, if they are not they will be soon I am sure. I say cams becuase once installed, unless the dealership pulls off the valve cover, they wont know that they are there. The nice thing too is that with vtec cams, the idle will be the same as stock. But once you get into rpm range that vtec kicks in, upwards of 10~20 can be had from the right set. Also you may want to consider a nitrous kit, maybe say 50~75 shot to get the need for speed going once in a while. Then buy an extra intake manifold just in case you need to have major work done to the car, then you can put the extra manifold on and no one will ever know you had Nitrous. It might be a pain in the ass but if you are that worried about it, dont get into it.

Personally I would NEVER mod a brand new car.

First off the car is going to drop in value the most durring the first 2-3 years. Big loss of $$$ Plus you will only get about 10% of what you put into the car out of it. If you end up trading it in the dealer may actually give you less because he has to take all that stuff out of the car before it can be sold. You should have saved the extra cash and gotten a older car then taken the money you saved and used it for mods... you would end up alot better in the long run IMHO.

If your gonna seriously tune it, youre probably gonna have to do away with the warranty, so your best bet is to save up your cash, wait til the warranty runs out or gets low or when you feel the time is right, then go crazy with the modding. Or do it whenever and lose the warranty, its your call.

I dont see the problem with modding a new car personally, but dont push your car too hard when you first get it, coz if you do youll be needing that warranty. All of the parts of the car have to work themselves in.

Ok, just a couple of tips

If you plan on keeping the car a long time, i dont see the problem with worrying about value drops and such, but i WOULD however get an old car and mod it, just coz im poor

you can get some ricetezzas for it

work on suspension, a nice wheel/tire package...I suggest a set of 16" Kosei K1s with some Kumho, Falken Azenis, or Toyo tires

good lightweight wheels will do a body good

About the warrentee thing, basically anything after the cat, and everything before the throttle body is ok.

I'm not sure how much more hp you can gain without doing some major, warranty-voiding work.

Like madtownhonda suggested, do some suspension work. A set of coilovers or nice springs/struts and some lightweight wheels would do the job nicely.

I think I read somewhere that even doing suspension work voids your warrenty. Because when you drop your car, you put alot of extra pressure on the components when you drop the car.

Yeah man, trust me, the car company will do ANYTHING it can to void your warranty, that way they dont have to pay for it if you mess up. Ive heard a lot of different things though, like lost of mods are ok as long as they arent the source of the problem, that sort of deal. But, the companies will try their hardest.

I thought taking off the cat was illegal anyway, or a violation of something....like emission laws....

oh well
