and next time if you need to get a hold of someone directly, just PM that member. but i guess i'll let it slide this time.:silly2:

hey del, guess what? i installed my Reverse indiglo guage today.
took about hour and a half. with my friend jimmy (he did 95% of work though, lol)

anyhow, we removed the guages from the cluster by removing the screws in the back. (there is 12 of them) and then we cut out the original black face. then we slide the face over it. however, we did cut through the white face for it to be able to fit over the speedometer guage because the needle is so freaking huge....so anyhow, its done.

the only problem we have now is the wiring.
for some reason, its a mess.

we connect the wires to the illuminatiing wire, and the ground.
when we turn the parking lamp on, the indiglo goes on. and then when we continue and turn the headlamp on, the indiglo shuts off.

tested every freaking wire with the tester and there seems to be no problem...........dont know what is going on, so on saturday, we are going to try adding a relay to see if it will fix the problem.

if not, i will either wire it to my ignition or buy a freaking switch to switch on or off my reverse indiglo guages.

what you think?

there's a choice of links below the posts. one of them reads "Send PM". so whoever you want to PM, just click that. no offense taken. :sun:

and what power source are you using to connect?

hey man why don't you find some kinda light that turns on when you turn on your parking and headlights and use that power source like a ash tray light or something like that....that's what i did and it works fine...i even hooked up a switch to it so i can turn it off when i want....i don't have a 5th gen lude so i don't know if there's a light in the ash tray or not...but that's a start!

ok..hmm....lets see.....
on the left side of the steering wheel
there are three buttons. one is for lights (brighter/dimmer)
one is for power moon roof
and one is for cruise

behind the lights switch
there are three wires.
i think that is called the illumination wire or something
and one out of the three is the ground.
so the indiglo is wired on 2 out of the three wires ( i think....)
.............that is as far as i know so far.
find out more tomoorw
might hook it up to a seperate switch if the relay doesnt work. LOL
kinda gay though......a switch for indiglo guages......

i think that relay won't fix the problem. i would just find a different power source and try that. try hooking the power and the ground to the light in the ashtray and see if that works, then you can do whatever you want to it like a switch or whatever..
