If I recall correctly, the panels are a kind of compressed fiberboard, but the trim is ABS and the plastic studs are simply molded into them. I've had those fail as well, and used a plastic welder instead of any kind of adhesive. Those "inside-out" speed nuts are a treat, aren't they? I've used small lock ring pliers to grip those internally and spin them out.
