Since I am about a month behind, you may have already had this repair done. But just incase:

The waterpump on your car, which circulates the antifreeze/water through the engine to cool it down, is going bad. I just had mine replaced 2 or 3 months ago. Before I had it done, it was leaking antifreeze onto the ground just to the right of the bottle, like you said, because that's where the waterpump is. There are two air conditioning lines that go directly over where the waterpump is, so those most likely need to be removed to get to the waterpump.

If he is charging you $400 to fix it, that is a very good price. I paid in the neighborhood of $1000 for that.
