If you have a "huge" lip, then you've probably put down too much paint. Also, the paint tends to build up along the masked edge, and is thinner elsewhere, so it just appears there is a huge difference in thickness of paint, where it's really just like that along the edge.

Carefull knock it down by wetsanding it, but don't go overboard and burn through or you'll have to start again. Then shoot some clear over all of it, and wet sand that so that the transition is smooth.
