The machining change in the crank (to accept reluctor) was a running change at the foundry (no part # change) in 1994. You got lucky in finding a 94 with the right crankshaft. A 92 or 93 will not accept the reluctor and will need a new crankshaft. The block casting was also changed in 94 to provide a wider flange fopr the plastic timing cover to seal better. so 92 and 93 blocks are not a good choice for OBD2 motor.
