Yes it's fixed. Inside the door there is a 1/2 inch metal prong that the pushrod of the electronic door lock actuator hooks over. It had snapped off rendering the actuator useless. I removed the door mechanism assembly and welded a small bolt in the prongs place. Works like a champ. True to Chryslers form - a poor design designed to suck you back to a dealer to fork over more bucks to Chrysler. I avoided that and you can too. Money spent - $0. Time spent - 4 hours. Sure beats the $300 estimate from the dealer. Life is grand!

I know this is a old post, But now my 96 Caravan is doing this.... it wont open, the push lock does move up and down manually, door does not open for either the our nor the in, and the automatic switch from drivers door wont budge it one inch, is this what was going on with yours, for me to look at this metal prong or do you think its the gas sensor lock for that door??
