The stock Ford ball and socket on Mustang since 87-ish don't have the spring set-up you thinking of but it is close. Never had an issue with those bolts an impact doesn't fix. There exhuast you can't expect the bolts not to rust firm at all?
I'm with Craig I love the MAC sound and the MAC cat-back I have is 4 years old driven through 2 New England winters and still not even close to rusting through.
