Look at the tags on differential closely. It should say. The D44 was offered with lower gears. 3.73. I believe the only way to get the 3.73 was to order them in the D44 axles. If the tag says 3.73 on it in the upper left then you have the D44. The 44 on that Jeep seems to have a lot of ribbing for strength compared to other 44s that I've seen. The 35 has a very oval case compaired to the 44 I believe. It would have had to come with Grizzly wheels with 30" tires I believe too. It was all part of a package Jeep offered. Hope that helps.
