Noticed a thread about replacing a MOSFET in front blower motor control (power) module with ATS. I installed a new transistor.Turned on ignition key,did not engage starter. Seemed to work fine–speed up–speed down, just as it should. I had tested 12 volt bulb first. .2 Amp to 1.1 AMP from lowest to highest blower setting and 5.1 to 10.5 Volt. The blower motor at highest setting was at 11.5V and 15.9 AMP. First time I actually started car, It blew the new transistor? With the burned out module, chip fused closed, blower running at full speed, it is drawing a steady 15.9AMP. I tried turning it off and on and noticed when the meter first registered a reading of 22 to 28 AMP, but I assumed it is just the meter getting in sync or do you think the motor is actually drawing that amperage at start up? Looked at many Utubes and they show motors drawing 20 – 25 AMPS and nothing is said about that being too much. The circuit is fused with a 40 AMP fuse? ideas? Keith meridian6
