As long as it is the same motor... I don't see why it wouldn't be compatible. I think there are two different styles of the 2.7L in 2001 and only one in 2002. I have seen where the flywheel can make a difference on starting and running, but that is usually when the flywheel has the tone ring for the crank sensor. Is the vehicle a no crank or a crank and no start?

"I have a 2001 300m and I switched the motor. The motor I used was from a 2002 300m. Now that everything is in place the car will still not start. I was told that the motors are not compatible. But then I was told the flywheels are not the same. Any advice?"
