I'm new to the forum, tried searching to find the answer first but it seems like everyones issue involved the security light which mine does not. I'm having an issues with all of my power windows not working at all. When I press the drivers side window to roll down it makes a clicking noise. All other buttons do nothing including on the other doors. At first this was intermittent and now happens all the time. Also it seemed as if when i switched my rear window defrost on and off(it was winter time) this would make the windows work sometimes? May just be a coincidence. Any help would be appreciated.

check the fuse socket for a snug fit ..with the window switch depressed using a meter see if the voltages are at the fuse ...then start moving the wire harness to locate the problem area ...all this with the switch held on...

I agree with j cAT, check some of the circuits. Check the circuit breaker and voltage at the breaker. Yellow wire is main voltage to the master switch. Black wire is ground. Sometimes there is a rubber boot that covers the wires going into the door, you might be able to pull back the boot, to access the wires?

ok...I figured out the ground going to the power window switch is the problem. Now I need to know where that wire goes in the car to ground. I found a ground under the carpet on the drivers side, cleaned the contacts but still having the issue, so the ground wire must be going else where. Anyone know where this is???

*update* Fixed the issue without rewiring. With the door opened I pulled the boot back from the car side(where the wires go from the door to the car) and pulled the wires out until I could see a harness they were plugged in to. After this I turned the key on and the windows worked. Must've been a loose connection to the ground in the harness. For now this may only be a temporary fix but atleast I know what I'm dealing with now!

Glad you got it going your way. If you found a connector, you could use a jumper wire to bypass the connector, for problem wire, if problem continues. You could also run a redundant ground wire, if problem continues.

The contacts in the Master switch have gone bad. Take the switch assembly out of the door and replace it with a new unit. This should fix your problem.

I had the same problem, sprayed the contacts with Tuner Cleaner (Contact spray and lubricant) and they worked for a short while.

Do NOT use Carbon Tet as it removes all the lubricants on the switch and may even eat the plastic.

Very seldom does the harness go bad unless its in the door wiring from the main body.

Good luck in your quest.

I have a 2004, same buzzing sound, tested all window motors they work fine, been through several switches- nothing is working-- checked ground, replaced ALL circuit breakers and relays, even ones behind the fuse blocks on both sides, still nothing but the irritating clicking sound when pushing down the drivers switch... really need some help on this, please.... thanks a ton!!

Replace the switch assy in the driver's door.
