I noticed on my 94 jimmy with vortec Vin"W" that when I turn the truck off I can hear something in my intake area- seems like a spraying sound - like one of my injectors is staying open, it sprays for a few seconds after the motor turns off. I do have what seems to be a miss in it, we have set the base timing, I have changed the nut kit since it was leaking, I did a fuel pressure test not too long ago, think it went up to 57lbs then was on 50 when I went back out about 5 minutes later, I didnt watch to see how fast it leaked down. I checked the oil for gas- no gas there. the miss is only at idle, I have no codes, when I first got it there was codes in ti but with the help of everyone here I have gotten them all fixed. I wasnt able to test direct pressure since I didnt have the correct fitting to hook into my line at the time. It has no trouble starting or running, just got that miss at idle, and I also noticed last night, I started it, then turned it off, waited about 5 seconds and restarted it and it was like it was flooded but it started kinda like it was choking and I reved it up and then it was ok for a few seconds and started to miss again. So I think I have one of them there poppet things sticking and was wandering how to clean them, or if I have to get another spider? I know that there is a problem in the intake though cause when I turn it off and stand in front of the jimmy, I can hear what seems to be a spraying sound coming from the drivers side front

With as many problems as you re having I would trade it off.:sarcasmsign:
But for leak inside plamtuim pull upper cover off it and prime up fuel pressure and look for leakage at fuel pressure regulater and in let and outlet fuel lines.
THE NUT KIT!!!!

Maybe next time you see a thread that says acts like its not fuel- you should reply - GO TO THE GAS STATION! Thanx MT you really know how to make someones day.

There is an upgrade for your fuel spider, that gets rid of most of the problems they usuall have. Go to autopartswarehouse and send them an e-mail along with your vin # to ensure proper part. The price you will pay now will be rewarded with a reliable part. This is of course if your spider is the problem.

Darren, do you know what the part is called? Or how much this replacement part is?

Its just called spider assembly, there is a bracket and a nut kit that must go with it for proper assembly. I just send them an e-mail telling them you want to uprgade you spider and they will gice you all the part #'s needed. Should be around 300 total but it will fix it for good...

You might as well get that chip off your shoulder and you high horse.
In this post I told you how to check and test it.
Have you do so?
Also what I would do If I had one with over 20 problems as you have asked about in your over 20 New thread starters with different problems.
Most of your post have been answered and a lot of them by me and Old Master.

But some how you never follow up on your threads just come up with more New threads and other problems.
And not many thanks to the people that have tryed to help you.

if you look in the How to section of this forum, for , "spider how to" there is a detailed thread on how to replace it and a picture of what the upgraded injector actually looks like.... Did you send an e-mail yet ????

Darren I seen the unit you are talking about, I have a friend who has an extra spider unit he will sell me pretty cheap, but I was wandering that if I took my spider out and maybe soaked the ends in something seafoam or something if that may possibly free it up? I know MT is upset, but in another thread I had a while back about running bad, was told to check upper plenium for washing, tore it off and had a leaking nut kit- replaced it and primed it up and had no leaks, but from my understanding from all the reading Ive done on here(earlier in this post he said he told me how to check for leaks) the injectors will not squirt fuel until you crank the engine over, and the pick up coil measrures the RPM's and tells the computer to fire the injectors( is this correct) and that your not supposed to start the engine with the upper intake off, so Im guessing I can remove the coil wire and turn it over and see if it is sticking or not. ANd if one was sticking open, it would cause it to seem like a miss at idle and make it kinda seem like it flooding but not enough to stall it. I will end up buying the upgrade later on, but dont have the money right to do so and that is why I was asking about cleaning this unit.
