Hello, friends !
I started new project. But Yamaha YZR-M1 2005 again.
I've practiced twice and I dare to challenge the perfect version this time. Can I make it? Who knows?
I'm using this kit. It's 3rd time to make this kit.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pv_Ea3CI6-8uQ50o--ffDJ6pVg76TJpWvvBtGcxwjPtgMLL_Zj7IfLLmHoaaDVvNf5FZ 6ixJg5gY/1199279091_DSCN3228.jpg?psid=1
And, Top studio's detail up set.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pyZAiLqyPo75QG08UxaduSYh3E2J3Mr8GpwETC0NyhHDUhah 9D1cusrkjdcPZazrS_KTz7OHaLU0/1199279091_DSCN3230.jpg?psid=1
And some other after market's ribet, bolt, etc.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1p4MLBCEcJsFmvEpw6gAMGxzXLNmmJIvI9PyfZ9IJTmZFNpzo uWjOuzC6_14klVWwPpX2KH8aXHJU/1265035939_DSCN3666.jpg?psid=1
I'll make gauloises version by using the studio27's decals.

As usual I started with dry fit.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pv_Ea3CI6-8tMnd9ocLfy74__E3uhgP7xmqW2_FvYSGFdqFyQd6U9ZxRYqti B3H3Qm84KvAdPzp0/1199279091_DSCN3227.jpg?psid=1
To use the Top studio's detail set, you have to modify the making order for easier work.
If you make in right order, you can easily proceed. So I think planing and deciding the working order are very important and it must be very different from that of the instruction of the tamiya kit.
After dry fit, you can see the gap between two parts.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pFCjZEhkC5shbrkqeEqPLHjSdmlW7dD2lAwokG2erBQZovHJ-MeBztTODyLiVw_gUb66nSi3vb9I/1265035939_DSCN3663.jpg?psid=1
Made guides for easy positioning and fill the gap with styrene sheets.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1p0Fopp4UwXhu5IqQj65dBzFl6l2E2p4bY_cWmmOMcYlb0uED hZEGPeFHLY3FmwUsG_s79SZ7Xx1U/1265035939_DSCN3670.jpg?psid=1
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pqfo-ly9bdPRKgrmcf6L2mDXSu2flqCVpoGuBPn8BdgLuP6DA2_IOIt w-DJcv74tGOKjfq0FvbGA/1265035939_DSCN3669.jpg?psid=1
After filling the gap, modified the shape of this part. (Sorry, I don't know the name of the part. Could anybody tell me the name?)
This part is not fit to the radiator well.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pnDt5lnjSCLIUAT90aFWfkw0oG1_WT-tMhyp9VourQ5jyAGmVo7Zijk_jRght8VHO5F-bDG-JWTE/1265425221_DSCN3678.jpg?psid=1
And checked if parts are fit well each other.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pQhEQvyx0IfcmA7L45I2qpQ6XIq3BwNMEcXBwTq1AYluyYb_ jeDJXIw7NkcGzCpNWT9Yfi4Vs7ko/1265425221_DSCN3677.jpg?psid=1
I hope to fit all the cowlings together after I finished all the details. So I kept checking the parts' positioning.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pmT9xKfoTc-lGZ4lsEOeCoym1GHm-z34B6hE5rpfvslkz6YGlYSIXTLiRx7aC-vZGeSzezH7d7Kw/1265425221_DSCN3676.jpg?psid=1
There's no gap between those two parts in real M1. I should do something afterward.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1p0Fopp4UwXhttM35RDe-6AxaqkmrWoCecsV4Y--k05sJ8QSx-sgqfJkzfocpugt5dEBOg0ndgis4/1265425221_DSCN3671.jpg?psid=1

After modifying the shape of the resin part and checking the assemble of each part, remove this part.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pvJ40LAYHY7FDvNqQZl0n_tDI8qfuEl1bWfepUzApvDGuVuU h9ixWUS3vy7BB1JC52SgauCuqLTk/1265520372_DSCN13676.jpg?psid=1

https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pvW_DCDQz3EGsy9mvCVC11ha0oKv6ZefB53TGalgJemcl5fn ViH0vdMbHKjfOQfAq3cZabLq4j3Y/1265554154_DSCN3683.jpg?psid=1

And cut the carbon panel below the front cowling.

A little progress...
Making these parts.

I decided to make them by using the original parts and styrene plates.
It must be difficult but those resin parts included in the Top studio detail set are not well fit with the cowlings either, and I prefer the styrene part to the resin one because I'm planing to assemble the cowlings by small bolts.
Firstly, I laminated styrene plates and made space for fitting both parts.

Using the instruction as a background is sort of my trademark. :iceslolan The building-instruction is very easy to reach on my disorderly work bench and implies that it's on the work bench. And.... most people don't use it.

No problem with that, I just meant, that it makes some photos with white parts kind of "turbulent", a grey background would draw the viewers attention more to the parts

Some progress....
Added some details on fuel tank.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pt2MKBe38U-AB9tGOjKR3WeWVkzmw3vyZWw8rPTRX85cNOSMmunN0KfIDrEJ_ qG2xxK6x7I9ueu4/1269261633_DSCN3706.jpg?psid=1
And made the chain. I used the Topstudio's chain set. I think it is the worst to make but the best in detail.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1prsmaiPBChg97FImJlvyUhT_mdgT1c_qblsC5XgdEOG5zWRp o7EhppXNOwQE5bpqMfUZ7cblbsx8/1269261633_DSCN3707.jpg?psid=1
I think it's impossible to disregard those details.

You can see the length of the chain.
Instructions said you should make the chain 15cm. However, last time I had made same chain 15cm was too short so it was very hard to fit and looked too tight.
This time I added two nodes(?), and this time it's too long. :eek7:

Hi, everyone. Long time no see.
Lots of work but little progress...
Tried to check if the cowlings fit well. However, there's some problem(maybe serious)and it needed lots of correction and sanding.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1parcKjF906Y0p4Z0wKtc8V0fn8FVZKbPuafhqd4cQI-yhGY8WLXkO9y3VHZik2aFXc-ywC0nNCyk/1273160113_DSCN3715.jpg?psid=1
So, big corrections have been almost finished.
Air-intake... Made sill for front cowling.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pCxrJqDt9RLNnFOFZFVgxFaK6eX0jc10zb1xBCtAdReWl39-S23kDF7rwv31ifZY4q04-HWS89tk/1273160113_DSCN3732.jpg?psid=1
And lengthen the inside of front cowling where the air-intake is fit.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pT-w4qy10Ht2e50KSrGdrk2bbXbNapwfh8_0OXRGdAAak83zDrK9s 7Dv4TB6EK5l0UMjneONRyEA/1273160113_DSCN3733.jpg?psid=1
They will be fit like this.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pVh125IsxygJOh8tkpl6XBUvmmicJShODIL-EsrITaE1fT5mNDu1uR9qFNr5W4J-bqIccBaBCRPE/1273160113_DSCN3735.jpg?psid=1
Rear cowlings - A little change with the original part.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1poV_C4m_uvSMC_60TcOU_FE7h4srZGJwiDcrs6c7zwMaofQe S2rfVLphcaB4DcLp-52NLu_j3w1s/1273160113_DSCN3737.jpg?psid=1
And Bolts...
For this project, I'm using lots of bolts from after market, and many of them should be embeded.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pSySwGkk6AANKrTPTlq5ys_wpsw76C7SWDFqdCDDQCZru6M5 IeD4ZR5UFqGrtxMZ_pR0Cvdp2icU/1273160113_DSCN3739.jpg?psid=1

Chain tensioner. I used screws and nuts from Tuner Model Manufacturer and they look perfect.
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pMpxW_I3ZB0QY7s2c8SGW-_hCo4BHvR2H1lK5Ju6SndCO807hdMNrdLP7BgmxlkFV9baicDS WBO4/1272390270_DSCN3716.jpg?psid=1
Handle part. It still needs lots of work.

Thank you very much for your reply. Especialy using Korean.
But, for Korean, I don't think Google translation is very good. :evillol:

Hello, friends. I restarted this one again.
A little update after long time.
As this bike has lots of carbon fiber parts, I've sent many days for CF parts. But many parts still remain to be done.

Some parts need patching.

For the air intake part, I divided the decal into 11 pieces.

Hello!
Adorable, great job!
I have long wanted to ask: how you were made of metal nuts and bolt heads? Or they can be anywhere to buy ready-made?
In Russia, I am certainly not likely to be able to buy it, but the internet works wonders ...

Thank you. I used bolts from T2M or Tuner Model Manufactory. I bought them from internet shop(hobbyeasy.com) in HongKong. Very nice product but quite expensive. :banghead:
splendid work
Thank you very much for your kind comment.
I'm still applying CF decals. But it's a very boring job.
So I did some painting on cowlings for rest. Applied primer, base white and main color. I painted racing blue, Tamiya's TS51, by air brush.

I like the livery of gauloises very much. I hope I can finish the cowlings without serious accident. :)
I'll be able to apply decals on cowlings in a few days. :)
Thank you for watching.

I started to apply decals.
When I started this project, Tamiya had not released the 2005 season's gauloises version yet. Therefore, I used Tamiya's kit of 2005 Valencia version and prepared after market decal from Studio27. Studio27's decal was printed by cartograf.
But I found.....
https://sn2files.storage.live.com/y1pueDHU-CQpzNu0Hgv7xiBlgqpJRs6ZjhVZqADWYUZYjABaGKj3xKcjiUD U8G9E6x1uas4kv-w3BM/1304004421_DSCN3871.jpg?psid=1
The Studio27's decal was very disappointing. :screwy:
The silver part of the stripe should be...

As I couldn't find the better solution, I bought another Tamiya kit of gauloises version. :frown:
In Korea, Tamiya's agent - Tamiya Korea - notified that they will not take order for additional decal in this case. Because I have never purchase gauloises kit from them.
The Tamiya's decal is very nice as usual. It is also printed by cartograf !

I hate this Studio27's decal but I can use the 'GAULOISES' mark instead of the 'GO!!!!!!!' mark from Tamiya.
I also started to paint engine. I hate this triple colored engine...

I started wiring.
Painted the connectors first.
As the gloss-black painted connectors are less obtrusive last time, I used 'steel' this time.
And scrape off the paint for better coloring.

Made a hole and insert a guide pin for correct positioning and clean adhesion.

After painted the rubber cap parts with flat-black and the ring with each color, glued each connector in correct position.

Finished wiring on the engine.

Some wire looks too thick. Maybe need to be changed.

I can put the engine on the chassis soon.
Thanks for watching and comments are welcome.
