amazing, like everything you do.
This blue efect its paint or decal? can you tell us how you do it?
many thanks
Thank you. blue heat stain is paint. I sprayed it from center... sprayed blue, and masked and sprayed silver and red, etc.

Young Gun - you - Sandro - Andrea - Zed red - have really increased the level of what can be done with these Tamiya motoGP kits and some skills to modify them with what is available and scratch-building. Your work on the "muffler - exhaust" is the best I've seen so far. I realize that "hair" is used to make the "mold lines" on the tires, but just how did you do that? It looks good, but I'm not quite sure that real tires - worn or new - have that look exactly. Maybe less of the mold lines would be better. What was your reference for that modification? Thank you for posting your work - keep up with your WIP it is very helpful. - John.

Mounting fantastic, I'm here looking at the details several times, so perfect, so the exhausts very realistic, congratulations, I am here looking forward to more ...

Thank you friends for your kind comments.
I had some serious problem after the 1st clear painting. However, after some weeks the trouble eased off by itself and I painted the 2nd clear.
I have sanded the cowlings and will paint clear one more time.

Yongun - How do you keep the motorcycle so clean for the pictures - mine always have little pieces of dust and small lint on them that are attracted by static electricity. Also where did you get the diagram for the routing of the wires? - Thank you - John

Thank you. It's my great pleasure to hear that.
No worries! English is not my first language either. :)
I was just asking for larger photos, so i could see more details. But it's ok, i saw them on your blog. Just incredible!
I'm just starting to work on a 1:32 model and finding very hard to get to such level of detail. What is your preferred method of working? Magnifying lamp/glass combo or one of those head-worn magnifying glasses?
Thank you for taking your time and your responses.
BTW I'm not sure what you exactly mean "Would you have links to couple very hires shots from above?". I'm sorry for my poor English.
Thank you. It's my great pleasure to hear that.

That really is stunning work, so clean, crisp and precise. Looks like you had some issues with the clear but that should look nice once re-cleared and polished out.
Outstanding work. :smokin:

Yongun - How do you keep the motorcycle so clean for the pictures - mine always have little pieces of dust and small lint on them that are attracted by static electricity. Also where did you get the diagram for the routing of the wires? - Thank you - John
I also have the same problems as you. Lots of dust and small lint...
I clean them before I take photos.
I used to use paint brush or blower.

I recently bought a cleaning brush from Tamiya.

It's quite good item except it's price.
For wiring, I refer to the topstudio's instructions for other season's version of M1 detail set as well as for 2005 version(they are definitely very good references and you can get it from their website) and photos in the book - Moto GP Racer's Archive 2005. I think I've examined those photos for years.:grinyes:

For the decals issue, I painted the fairings with Tamiya Spray TS51 racing blue. And after decaling(decal was tamiya's cartograf printed one I remember.)... used Gunje's Super Clear II on it. I managed to handle the problem with clearcoat.
do you at least know what is causing the cowling to not line up properly?
At first, I doubt that the cowling is warped after painting and clearcoating. But comparing with the unpainted part the warpage was not serious.
Now I think it's mainly because of those added detail parts.
YongGun - is it an alignment issue or a clearcoat decal issue?? - John
Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. Though the fairing looks slightly warped after clearcoat, however, I think it's definitely not a clearcoat issue.
now that's a weird issue, seeing that they worked just fine in dry-fit. been reading your thread and am absolutely amazed at the level of detail you've put here. hope you get this worked out soon. :)
Yes. you are right. Just too many added parts. And the fairing seems to be warped slightly after clearcoat.
Tamiya must have not considered those additional parts and there's no room for those details.
https://public.sn2.livefilestore.com/y1pn6GEliLgJ7WqhxUCD3qxwf8uQ266dPlRaSl5hacULBktV2Y cc_HsS7DAI9EHEkXJzWlzCNtNjrETe64G8lKqyg/DSCN40255.jpg?psid=1
Inside of the Tamiya YZR-M1 2005 fairing, that groove(?) in the red circle is for the part in the red circle in the photo below.
https://public.sn2.livefilestore.com/y1pD5JenNrifMDdWfLtluaI5k9k1Nn2dJMyoCDQTx1Jykxo_Ux Z1Zp9JV2Amc60cCsJH43WGJ3A1QiaJ9UjWHNpoQ/DSCN40144.jpg?psid=1
So there's no room for that oxygen sensor cable. And the other parts in the yellow circles are holding the fairing away from the frame.
Actually I carved out the inner side at the begining of this project. However, it needs more room for the cable and other parts and I have to
carve out the fairing more.
It's very dangerous work and I made a tool to check the thickness.
https://public.sn2.livefilestore.com/y1pCB6mSAM2Qx4zwOa-S-lO14J60rtARDYp8b1hAuK2tAvaKo0Vi9Jm28fROW-tRoxrY4pA3BO6UeGk9MwJSJekrA/DSCN4026.JPG?psid=1
And temporarily remove the damper.

After those big operations.....
I managed to fit the cowlings.
https://public.sn2.livefilestore.com/y1pPgAkZGG98wVZOsJlYaI4xQ41TKT1NmYJ9pfPs8f8j-SZhWimiN10u3uDy3BcMF10ufXKw-oaI2lxTsUnCQNluw/DSCN4021.jpg?psid=1

Hi YongGun, after i read your problems i checked my self on my model if the left side fairing and the steering damper will do problems. I build to the 2005 Yamaha M1 with o couple o minor improovments, so, one part what i use extra is the steering damper from Top Studio. The enigne, fraim, steering and tyres are ready, the fairings are painted with primer and a coat of paint. I need to recoat again but in this moment everything fit's perfectly. I don't believe the fairing will warp so much after paint and clearcoat. I neved had such a problem.
In your case probably the fairing is still to thick, and the many added details are the problem, but this is not your fault. But one question, why to cover them and not to show them? At least let the left side open, in this case the viewers have much more to see from your stunning work!

I don't know how detail to this level is even possible, but good lord, you've done one hell of a job with this. I've never seen something so impressive on such a small scale.
Great work. I mean this really is an artist's work, dude.
