Chirpping noise

I have a chirpping noise coming from the engine, its on the drivers side, away from the serpentine belt, coming from on top by the fuel injectors, its not the actuators on the throttle body. The noise comes and goes. Could it be a fuel injector, never heard this before. Doesn't sound at all like a valve. It's a '04, 3.0L

Your chirping noise is very likely the bearings beginning to fail in the camshaft syncronizer, located where the distributor used to be on these engines. The part is not too expensive if you search online for it, and installation isn't difficult if you can find TDC on #1 piston before removing the old syncronizer and camshaft position sensor.
