I have a damaged transmission internal wire harness on my 3.8 liter 98 Windstar.
Can I replace it without dropping the transmission!
Did any one do this. Please give me some directions.
I have attached a picture here.
Thanks.
Jay

I posted in your other thread what connects to it.
I do not know if it can be done on the vehicle or not.......
I posted what the pin-outs are....with wire colors.....but that is for my '96.
The other post.....for the plug on the vehicle wire harness......tab at the top.....pin 1 is top left.....then you go to the right.....pin 4 is top row....right.....blank/not used
Pin 5 is 2nd row left....
Pin 9 & 10 are bottom left & right.
So, on the transmission connector......the one that is broken.....
Top RIGHT is pin 1.....SS1 Orange Wire
Pin 2 is Power to all 3 shift solenoids..... RED wire
Pin 3 is TCC Brown
Pin 4 top left.....blank/not used
Pin 5, 2nd row right TFT Black wire
Pin 6 is SS2 Pink wire
Pin 7 is Power to TCC & EPC Green Wire
Pin 8 is SS3 Yellow wire
Pin 9 bottom right is Signal Return from Transmission Fluid Temp (TFT) White wire
Pin 10 bottom left is EPC Blue wire
I don't know if this will be of any help......please remember that this is for 1996, as that is all I can see in my Alldatadiy subscription.......much is the same for 1996-1998
I am thinking that this might help in case you can locate another connector body......to match up what pins/wires go to what hole.

Thanks for the response Wiswind!
I have managed to replace the wire harness which I damaged it due to my stupidity.
I removed the transmission support and lowered it with jack. Removed the side cover and connected the new harness.
Thanks once again.

It is great to see that you were successful!
Now I know where the electrical connection is.
