The sensor on the back of the throtthe body, is that the throttle angle sensor or the throttle position sensor? Are they the same thing? Anyone got any pictures of either or both so I know what I need to go get from the honda dealership tomorrow (mines broken)? Thanks

If you bust your TPS, I thought you had to buy a whole new throttle-body... ? Mines busted on my D16Y8, so if I don't have to replace the whole TB, I would much rather just replace the TPS.

Nope, you can just replace your TPS sensor. They have breaking screws in them, so you cannot just undo the screw, and away you go. The best way I have found to get them off, is take a grinder to the head, then pop the TPS off. I may have one sitting arround, and I know there are plenty at the boneyard here. But I wont be making a trip there until tuesday.

hey 91civichatch, you will need to find a TPS off a DX motor cause an Si TPS or any MPFI TPS will not work on your DX throttle body, Si and DX TPS turn opposite.

Thats only if you go to a Honda dealership, they do not sell TPS by themselves, you have to buy the throttle body as a whole to buy one and they are alot of money. Best way is to find one off a MPFI t-body and do the grinding thing, thats what I did..

Its for my ZC that im putting in. Anyways though, you can switch the 2 wires going into the DX one, it will turn the opposite way (atleast thats what ive been told). Actually, does this mean that I can use my DX sensor and just switch the wires or does it have to be one from a MPFI?
Kris, have you found any laying around? If you could find one at the junkyard, how long do you think it would take for one to get mailed to NY?

Not sure if putting the DX one on the ZC t-body will work, I was in the same situation as you, I had a good working DX TPS and tried to put in on my Si T-body......did not fit right, trying to bolt it on required turning the TPS wheel so that it will fit in the t-body, and it turned opposite, it just wont work.

Hitting the junkyard up tomorrow, if I can grab some, I could get it mailed out ASAP.

They are called shear bolts, the head shears off when tightned enough, same as on the igntion switch/lock. Just put the TB in a vise and take a chisel or old flathead screw driver and hold it at an angle to the head of the bolt. Beat it into the bolt to turn it counterclockwise. These things are a bitch to get off.
