Today the car was pulled into the driveway and stalled right when it came to a stop but it started up again right after but the lights were dulling until the rpms were increase... is this just a bad alternator?

Possibly. Check the voltage at the battery with the car on and off. Should be 14.4v and 12.9v respectively.
