Brake Grinding

I have unfortunately driven my saturn sl2 to the point that my front brakes are grinding at low speeds, not screeching from the worn pad sensors but grinding, i know I need new pads and most likely rotors, bot of which i can replace, but I am concerned that the grinding noise is the result of the caliper piston on the rotor...Do you think I am going to need new calipers? Have I damaged more than the rotors? I have only been driving under these conditions for about a week, and only short drives.

as long as they are worn evenly & piston push back fairly easy you should be ok
just lube the slides when you do repairs,Good Luck

by lube sides do you mean the sides of the piston before I push it back...I guess i am kinda foggy as to what I should lube when I replace pads and rotors

The calipers slide on pins. Make sure they are clean of gummy grease and re-lubed.

re-lubed with caliper grease. Not normal grease as it will burn off.
